Dear Triton Students and WUAW Listeners:

Welcome to our website.  It was created and designed by Justin Godwin, a member of the Class of 2002 at Triton High School.

The purpose of the site is to provide information about WUAW, promote the Radio and Television program at Triton High School, and recruit students into the class.

If you are a student at Triton High School, how would you like to work at WUAW, get to be on the air, listen to music in class, and learn about the radio and television industry?

The Broadcast Production Technology program at Triton High School is designed for juniors and seniors or any student that turns sixteen by the start of the school year.

Students may sign-up for the class for one or two semesters in both their junior and senior years at Triton High School.  This allows students to earn up to 25 semester hours of credit from Central Carolina Community College.

Classes are limited to only 20 students, which allows for more individual instruction.  Three students are on the air each period for 30-minute air shifts.  Students also have the opportunity to host their own after-school show each weekday afternoon starting at 2:45 p.m.

The program is designed to prepare students to enter the Broadcast Technology Degree program at Central Carolina Community College and to enhance communication skills for all participants.

Students will develop professional skills in radio, television, audio, video, and related applications.  Training will emphasize speech, script writing, production planning, and editing.  Students will also study the development of the broadcasting industry, sales, ethics, law, marketing, and management.  Hands-on training and teamwork approaches are essential to the instructional process.

Listeners are encouraged to call and request or dedicate their favorite songs and participate in on-air contests and giveaways.

If you are a student at Triton High School and are interested in the Broadcast Technology Program, stop by the radio station.  WUAW is located upstairs at Triton High School in Room 711.  If you want to sign-up for the class, talk with your guidance counselor.

If you are not a Triton student, but want more information about WUAW, click on the various links in the navigation bar or call (910) 897-8070.

Thanks for your interest in WUAW and keep listening.

Sincerely,

Ron McLamb
Station Manager
